Not all hackers wear hoodies

Client: SecurityHive, a three-in-one cyber security platform

Briefing: We were asked to think of a new way to create awareness around cyber security, targeting owners and IT managers operating in health care, transportation and production industries.

Context: Many companies still struggle with cyber security: it feels overwhelming and isn't always seen as a priority or responsibility. Which precautions you have to take, how hackers get access, which solutions you should pick for your industry: it all remains quite vague and the options are endless. With our campaign we used humor and the unexpected to make people alert again, and to make them take action. When we see a man mowing his lawn, nobody thinks that he possibly steals data from your network. We grab people's attention by combining everyday imagery with cybercrime in specific industries. We then introduce SecurityHive's 3-in-1 solution: simple and effective. Not just for big incidents but also for everyday threats that are often underestimated, like CEO-fraud and phishing.

Concept:
Another big production company that got hacked and couldn't function for a few days. Too bad, but you're not affected by it anymore. You've seen it so many times, that you've gotten used to it. And that image of a man in a hoodie behind a computer, with blue zeros and ones in the background? It doesn't even grab your attention anymore. At one point you realised you had to do something, so you installed a firewall and had 2FA set up. But you are unsure what else you need to do to protect your company - so you leave it as it is. But hackers are no longer that man in the hoodie. They shamelessly pretend to be your CEO or colleague. They let you enter your login details through phishing e-mails, or lurk around in your systems for a few weeks to determine which data will get them the highest reward. The threat around cybersecurity is different from what you might expect.

So, hoodies or not, what are you going to do to protect your company?

For this project I acted as assistant art director and was part of the concept creation. After that, I oversaw the actualisation of the concept.
